Hochbetrieb / Nuts & Bolts
2003 | 35mm, 6 min. | 3ds Max, Shake, Matchmover|
It's lunchtime atop a skyscraper construction site in the 1930s and our hero has nothing to eat but an amphibian friend in his lunchbox...
This movie, directed by Andreas Krein, was my final student project at the Baden Württemberg Film Acamdemy in Ludwigsburg. I worked as VFX set supervisor, scripting TD, compositor, 3D artist, matchmover, lighting artist, database programmer etc. The movie is a hommage to the old slapstick movies and was entirely shot against bluescreen.
The trailer premiered at the Computer Animation Festival of Siggraph 2002, San Antonio, and the final movie was shown at short film festivals in Venice, Los Angeles, Cannes etc.
Please visit the offical homepage for more detailed information, a trailer and some more pictures.

Monkey Punk is caught and brought into the city where it's hair is the object of desire for a corpulent, mighty doctor. A fight breaks out. The arena, a green padded cell, becomes the scene of the seemingly unfair clash.
This stop motion animation movie, directed by Christian Fischer, was my first student project at the Baden Württemberg Film Acamdemy. I contributed as VFX supervisor, 3D artist, matchmover, lighting artist and compositor, using Quantel Domino and the then new software Shake.
The movie was shot using a motion controlled 35mm camera and won several prizes, amongst which is the "Louis le Prince Award" at the 2001 Leeds International Film Festival, UK
